RARE BIRD ensemble -

RARE BIRD ensemble was founded in 2022 by international theatre artist, Jeremy James, and WAAPA graduate, Jack Martin. The company performs in new and unexpected spaces to enrich connections between the actor and the audience, combining musical, physical and traditional theatre practices. Their debut work, LOVE & FORGETTING – Tales from a Young Mixer premiered at the Sofitel Melbourne On Collins as part of its acclaimed Artists-in-Residence program with Global Art Projects.

“LOVE & FORGETTING” – Riverina Tour

In partnership with the Griffith Regional Theatre, we’re thrilled to host LOVE & FORGETTING at Limone Dining before shows with the Australian Art Deco Festival Leeton (13+14 July) and Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre (23+25 July). As part of this regional tour, and with support from Griffith Regional Theatre, GRAPA and Western Riverina Arts, RARE BIRD ensemble will lead a two-day training workshop for local actors, directors and drama teachers (20-21 July).

Jeremy James has received public and critical acclaim for his work across five continents over the past 25 years as an actor, director and teacher with renowned theatre companies and drama schools; notably with Théâtre du Soleil in Paris for a decade and back in Australia with NIDA and WAAPA.

Jack Martin is a performer and theatre-maker who cut his teeth on the boards of the Griffith Regional Theatre with Beauty and the Beast, Grease and Wicked before completing professional training in Musical Theatre and Performance Making at WAAPA.
